Marches Movement: Community Interest Company
Our vision is to enable people to connect more deeply and harmoniously with the rich inner landscape of their heart, mind and body and the abundant outer landscapes of the natural world through movement, holistic practices and community.
Our mission is to make wellness and movement practices accessible to everyone, regardless of background or income. We aim to do this through inclusive and subsidised low cost and free yoga and well being sessions, workshops and programs in the Marches region.
Our first project: Inclusive Yoga Sessions at Marches Movement Studio starting Sept 2025
Following our first fundraising campaign on Spacehive from June - August 2025, with the help of our wonderful extended community we managed to raise a grand total of £1,711.55 (after Spacehive platform and transaction fees) for our first project delivery sharing subsidised yoga sessions as part of a wider studio timetable.

We were able to fund two sessions per week: chair yoga and yoga to support mental health. Between 16th Sept - 19th Dec 2025 we delivered 13 weeks of each session, predominantly at a central studio space in Ludlow.
We welcomed 25 different participants over the course of the sessions, many of whom stayed with us consistently over the 13 week period. During this time we saw participants grow increasingly more comfortable and confident in terms of proprioception (body awareness in space) and interoception (internal sensing), finding more ease and joy through physical movement with gentle guidance, patience and practice.
Many participants also reported how the sessions had a positive impact on their mood, equipping them with simple breathing techniques and movements that they could also practice at home when needed. The yoga to support mental health sessions facilitated this by providing a simple, gentle and familiar sequence that was largely the same each week, fostering a sense of safety and encouraging this confidence in practicing self supervised.
The social impact of the sessions was also significant. There was time during the chair yoga classes for tea and a chat and one participant shared “When I first started attending chair yoga I needed to get out of my house and meet people again as for three years I had been a carer, and life and socialising had been put on hold. I’m truly grateful for the calming and relaxing time spent in the class - I feel it was a very special time and I met some lovely people.” Having the sessions running consistently weekly created space for a shared sense of community to emerge, and for the opportunity to foster connections outside of the sessions.
During this time we received £283 in donations from the sessions, which we are reinvesting into subsidised chair yoga sessions currently running at Ludlow Mascall Centre - find out more/book these sessions here.
Founders
Marches Movement CIC was founded by Shropshire based women Marie Burrows, Charlotte Price and Jennie Verma, who bring together wisdom from somatic practices, banking and education. Rooted in the landscapes of the borderlands, they are weaving a new commons ~ where movement, connection, and care grow wild and accessible for all.
